You may be at the start of a new day, (or week, or month, or year). Much as we’d like to think that this new day (or week, month, or year) will live up to our expectations, there will be set-backs, disappointments, and unexpected turns. We will make mistakes and experience failures.
I’ve been doing some sketching. My artistic skills are limited. I make mistakes.
For instance, when outlining this barn I made a major mistake in perspective. Plus, a line zigged with it should have remained straight! Rather than turning the page for a fresh start, I kept working with what I had.
The flaw remained but grew increasingly insignificant. What had been disfiguring almost disappeared as perspective grew to reveal the “big picture”.
That gives me joy!
Which brings me back to what I said about the start of this new day (or week, month, or year). It won’t be perfect. But maybe in our set-backs, disappointments, and unexpected turns we will find opportunity for unexpected joy.
Opportunity for God to transform our flawed perspective. Opportunity for our eyes to open to catch a bit of His bigger picture for us.
Here’s a good “big picture” perspective as we enter this new day, (or week, or month, or year)….
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts…”
–Isaiah 55:9

Yes! I like your thoughts on perspective and I really like the sketch too 🙂
