This movie is based on the true story that successfully passed Susie’s Law in North Carolina; a law which seeks stricter punishment for animal abusers. Susie’s Hope brings to life the inspirational relationship between pit bull attack survivor Donna Lawrence and Susie, a pit bull-mix puppy found beaten, burned and left for dead.
When she was attacked by an abused pit bull, Donna nearly lost her life and suffered a miscarriage. Months later, she and her husband find purpose in their tragedy as they open their hearts so a brutally abused pup,Susie, can find healing and ultimately a home. Their personal story becomes a defining focus of their state’s historic effort to strengthen animal abuse laws.
Starring Emmanuelle Vaguer, Burgess Jenkins, and Andrea Powell, Susie’s Hope is a story of love, loss and redemption; and reminds us that investing in just one who has been overlooked or given up on, may end up touching many more lives than we dreamed possible.

Oh wow, I can relate to this movie because we had a dog (BIG dog) that I had on a leash while pregnant to take for a walk and he saw something and dashed after it, dragging me down our porch steps. It made me really dis-like dogs after that. Luckily I didn’t have a mis-carried though.
With our sweet rescued dog, I have a soft spot for animals who haven’t been treated well. This sounds like a great movie!
