Sometimes we hear our stories best when they are spoken through the voices of others.
“Growing up, people would always tell me God loved me, but I had a hard time believing that. I wondered if God even liked me. I don’t know, maybe it’s because people also told me my dad loved me.”
Rich Mullins in Ragamuffin
“Through no will of my own, my father sent me to Egypt in secret so that his shame could not be known, for it is said that a shame unrevealed is two-thirds forgiven.”
Maviah in A.D. 30, Ted Dekker
“But as for you….I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41: 8-10
For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners…. God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Romans 5:5-8
… you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:15

Wow. This shows me that, while our stories are unique, they’re also not. Others have traveled similar roads. There’s a camaraderie there.

“camaraderie” – that’s a really good word for this – have never thought of mutuality of our many stories in that word.

Thank you I needed to hear that today.

Absolutely Michelle. Truth is, we need this every day don’t we? Thanks for being an encourager and be blessed and safe today.
