A few months ago I wrote about the inevitable winter seasons of life. And I shared three principles for living through winter seasons.
- Look for encouragement.
- Wait on God’s timing.
- Hope in God’s promises.
You may have come out of a winter season recently, or you may still be in the middle of one. Either way, look at these pictures and notice how beautifully they illustrate one of God’s promises.
Although the angle of the pictures is different, the location is exactly the same. What a difference three months makes! I’m so thankful that God uses nature and creation to illustrate the beauty and the surety of His promises.
Here’s a good challenge to consider. Regardless of the season you are living through in your own life, take a good look at your surroundings. Look at creation and look in your home and even in your place of business and ask God to use what you see as a reminder of His promises, of His goodness, and of His perfect character.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalms 19:1 NIV

Thanks for this reminder, Mark. Sometimes I get so busy “doing life” that I don’t stop and recognize the reminders of His love.

I understand Jennifer! This morning I did something rare and sat still and quiet in my living room. That quietness allowed me to observe the wind was blowing the branches outside. And I was reminded of scripture that tells us the Holy Spirit is like the wind. Unseen in person, but known by the evidence of His presence.
