Are you feeling Election Day anxiety? My own “concern” has reminded me of a lesson from this past summer.
I was hospitalized and faced the scary reality that I was no longer in control. (Yes, I’m doing OK now, thanks for asking. 🙂 ) Hospital staff were now scripting my days and I questioned whether “normal” would ever return. And if it did, would “normal” actually be normal? Anxiety was my frequent companion.
God reminded me of this scripture during those days.
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Proverbs 21:1
Repeatedly praying this scripture was one key to my surrendering and experiencing peace. God was speaking that He was still in control on my behalf. No one, whether they respected, believed, and honored Him or not, was going to steal that control from His hand.
This may be a good reminder on this election day.

Glad to hear you are “ok” now! 🙂 Saw a sign the other day on one of the churches around here. So true! “Have the donkey and the elephant let you down? Try turning to the Lamb instead”. Early voted the other day after work and had marked everything on my ballot in less than 5 minutes except for…… took me 20 more minutes after that to play eenie-meenie-miney-mo!

Bonnie – It’s a good thing you did early voting then the people behind you would have been very impatient! 🙂 The Lamb reminder is good – thanks for sharing that.
