You have the opportunity to win a copy of Overrated, by Eugene Cho, founder of One Day’s Wages, a grassroots movement of people, stories, and actions seeking to alleviate extreme global poverty. Cho is also the founder and senior pastor of Quest Church, an urban, multicultural, and multigenerational church in Seattle, Washington.
“This book is my confession. It’s painful and honest, but it’s mine. And it’s this: I am more in love with the idea of changing the world than actually changing the world. This isn’t a message of guilt or shame. But it is a call, to both you and me, to be less infatuated with telling a good story and instead live the good story—a story of faith, hope, courage, and justice….
Who am I? …Most of all I am created in the image of God. I am a son of God, broken, received, forgiven.” – Eugene Cho
In his writing, Cho communicates the importance of living the gospel as tangible evidence of our faith. His particular passion is addressing the issues of global poverty. But the principles he writes about apply to any area of need. His honesty and humor about his own struggles encourages us readers to boldly evaluate our own commitment to being God’s “hands and feet” in a needy world.
If you are willing to be challenged that your life is intended for a lasting impact, then you are ready to read this book.

We’re too often willing to start a debate on Facebook or fume about the injustices in the world, but I’m not sure that we’re willing to do what it takes to truly make changes. This sounds like an encouraging (and challenging!) book.

I can’t wait to read this…and then change the world! 😉
Seriously, though, how do we change the world? I think it’s through the influence we bring to the sphere we live in…day in and day out…over time, as we live out our stories of surrender and interaction with the One who loves us most in front of the people who see us best. It will be interesting to wrestle with Cho’s perspective.
