Bread & Flower; a Good Neighbor Story

Two neighbor ladies stopped at my house around 8:30 the other evening.

“You probably know why we are here!”

When they were young girls they would ask mom for a few blooms from her peonies. Mom always enjoyed sharing with them.

In the years since, these two young ladies have become known for their flower arranging skills. They collect blooms from various places, including from our yard, for wedding arrangements and bouquets. (This year their arrangements will go as far as Iowa!)

“We really want to pay you for these.”

“Umm, how about you just bring something down the next time you bake?”

(They and their mom are known for their culinary talents, as well!)

When I got home the following night I found that payment-in-full had been made…

I’d say I made a pretty good deal!
